Our story

Founded in 2007, by Modern Pentathlon Olympic medallist and World Champion Joël Bouzou and placed under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and anchored in the Principality’s neutrality, the organisation emerged from the conviction that sport is a powerful tool based on fair rules, that can bring people together and overcome differences.

Peace and Sport is an international, neutral and independent organisation founded in 2007 by Olympic medallist and Modern Pentathlon World Champion Joël Bouzou. Placed under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and anchored in the Principality’s neutrality, our organisation was born out of the realisation that sport is a powerful tool for bringing people together and overcoming differences.

Our call

We call on international decision-makers to deploy the intentional use of sport as a tool for peace, relying on its universality, on ‘role model’ athletes and on qualified educators.
